I worked at BBVA for 2 years and recently they released my credit card designs in Mexico after being released in Spain, Colombia and Argentina. The new designs don't show credit card numbers or CVV which make them more secure. The concept behind the design is to represent payments going from the client's hand through the symbol, to the chip and moving wirelessly to the terminal.
